I am trying to wear all my “white” before Labor Day. I know its fashion passé to wear white after September but I want to wear the crisp summer whites now. GAP white blazer ($29.99) and LOFT sheath look classy. I am quick to clinch my waist, so I added a patent leather belt. Happy Styling!!

When I think of silk pants, I think of senior citizens in their matching silk track suit. However, I adore these silk GAP pants ($8.99). The pants are a silk blend so the pants are breathable! The billowy shirt is feminine and breezy on this hot day (New York & Company $6.95). It was pretty chilly this morning, 59 degrees, a wonderful preview of fall! This outfit was very appropriate for the weather changes and I was very comfortable all day. Happy Styling!!

3 ways to wear a scarf!
1. As a hair bow. Yes, it’s pretty bold but it adds spice to a plain tee and jeans.
2. The traditional way, around your neck. However get creative and tie it in a different way (a bow or double knot).
3. As a belt! One of my favorite fall outfits is to wear all black then tie a colorful scarf as a belt. It’s a great way to add a pop of color and still look conservative.
Happy Styling!!

I love this dress HOWEVER I don’t know what I was thinking today when I slipped on this wrap dress. It was 103 degrees today in TN, so you can understand that I was way over dressed. But hey, I think I still looked great. Have you ever been “over dressed” or not dress appropriately for the weather? Happy Styling!!

Boy, am I ready fall! Today is another hot day in TN (humidity and temps are through the roof)! A Calvin Klein pencil skirt ($19.99 Rue La La.com) and cute top (TJ Maxx $5) look polished on this hot day. I really wanted to wear a suit today but I value my life and don’t want to pass out! I think this look commands authority, maybe not like a suit but it does say “I will get the job done”! What is your go to outfit when you want to command authority in a meeting or presentation? Happy Styling!!
I had to take a four hour course last night and this is the outfit I wore. One of two things always happens in these types of meetings 1. I am freezing 2. I always sit by the most chatty person in the meeting unintentionally! Although it was well above 90 degrees yesterday evening I choose a ¾ length LOFT blouse and wide leg GAP pants to stay warm. This outfit worked well and chatty Kathy next to me was complaining the whole time about being cold and being pregnant…ha ha (You just gotta roll with the punches)! Excuse my shiney forehead!! Happy Styling!!

On Saturday night I enjoyed time out for a friend’s birthday party. I scored this dress at UAL 3 years ago. If you haven’t been to UAL, it’s an amazing boutique that offers discount prices on true designer finds. I remember getting this dress for $9.99!! Can you believe it? This was before maxi dresses were trendy! Check out UAL 2918 West End Ave Nashville, TN 37203. Happy Styling!!

Silk Banana Republic shirt ($8.99) and tapered LOFT pants. I don’t prefer tapered pants because just like skinny jeans they don’t look appropriate on everybody. However these pants have a slight taper so it works. It was a bit humid to wear silk today, the fabric just stuck to my body which was GROSS! Happy Styling!!

I drove over 6 hours today… I can you say exhausted!! I knew I would spend most of the day in my car so I need an easy breezy outfit that wouldn’t wrinkle. This Merona (Target brand) knit dress worked perfectly for my long day. I didn’t pair a lot of accessories with this look so magenta BCBG pumps added a pop of flair! Happy Styling!!

I welcomed the cooler weather this morning with a faux Max & Cleo dress (not sure where I purchase this dress). The weather in TN today didn’t get over 83 degrees (It was so pleasant considering we were in triple digits a couple of weeks ago). This dress kept me classy and worked well into parent orientation at my daughter’s school tonight. I always like to dress for the events I am doing that day. For example, I drove over 300 miles today and knew I wouldn’t have much time to change before my meeting this evening. This dress was effortless cute because it doesn’t wrinkle and kept me comfortable and warm! Happy Styling!!

Causal Friday! I don’t prefer to wear jeans into office even if most of the office workers might have them on. I like these The Limited trousers ($12.99) that have the look and feel of jeans but are regular slacks. I paired a cute LOFT shirt ($6.99) with bow detail and the slightest pin stripes for a feminine effect. While my rule is if you are going to wear something roomy on top wear something fitted (such as leggings or a straight leg pant) on the bottom and vice versa, I think the roomy proportions play well together. What do you think…Too roomy or just right? Happy Styling!!

One of the hottest color combinations for this fall is red and tan. I got this red LOFT skirt at a consignment shop for $12 (I can’t think of the name of the consignment store. School started for my daughter so my brain is fried)! It was less than 85 degrees today and I joke that I can wear a sweater in TN at least 8 months out of the year because I get cold easily. This peanut butter color LOFT sweater ($7.88) acts as a neutral and downplays the bright red. I belted the sweater to define my waist and add shape. What do you think of this color combo? Will you be wearing this color combo in the fall? Happy Styling!!

While “shopping my closet” I have found some great pieces that I totally forgot about. This Talbots brown draw-string waisted dress was so airy and comfortable today. While it wasn’t miserably hot today the humidity was through the roof! I picked up this dress at TJ Maxx last year and I think I paid $12.99(for anybody that has even stepped into Talbots’s you can’t even get a pair of socks for $12.99). I paired trendy peachy Steve Madden shoes with this frock for a “of the moment look”; although I must say I’ve owned these shoes for several years now (via Marti $ Liz $19.99). Go ahead and “shop your closets” too. Post pictures and comments of your hidden treasures! Happy Styling!!

It was colder today, 88 degrees! A LOFT sweater ($4.88) and brown box plaid pants (The Limited. I’ve owned these pants forever) keeps me comfortable all day. I am still unpacking and trying to get everything organized however I feel like I am “shopping” my closet again. I am doing a challenge to not do any clothing shopping until Labor Day. I feel like I need to get a hold on my clothing, save some mu lah, and also donate Mt. Clotherest to Goodwill! Happy Styling!!
