As a child, I always wanted to be an attorney. I love how they can argue a point until its mute and win on technicalities. I was even a political science major in college but I quickly learned  during a internship at a major firm my personality doesn’t match well with other lawyers or the constant reading( I am a people person and I love to interact with people hence- a sales career). I had “my day in court” today and I wanted to dress what I perceived an attorney wears (Guess what? All the female JD’s had on black suits ha ha! One even asked what firm I represented. This speaks so well to dress for the job you want not the job you have.) I know this is a plain-jane outfit and doesn’t showcase my personality or flare but I think it’s key that everyone own one POWERHOUSE black suit (The Limited-Studio 400. jacket $29.99 skirt $14.99). Think about it, you can interview in this suit, dress up/down the separates, or even attend a funeral (not funny but true)! Happy Styling!!

It’s one of those days were it is 50 degrees in the morning and 80 in the afternoon. My solution is a LOFT cardigan ($4.88 I got this last winter right before the spring collection came out) and Banana Republic dress ($3 Phase II). I will be taking the cardigan off once the temps heat up. Happy Styling!!

I am feeling so much better today! I got some much needed sleep and medicine over the weekend. Today is a rainy day, I actually love the rain it’s so renewing and calming. I paired a oatmeal colored sweater(LOFT $20- I got it over the weekend with their great 40% off sale and saving cards) and classic black LOFT pants( I’ve owned these forever)! I like the shine the patent leather shoes add to the outfit, it seems like I have on rain boots but they are heels. Happy Styling!!

I am still feeling under the weather…sniff sniff. However, the best way to feel better is to look better (so I changed out of my cozy pajamas and got out of the house). I got this cute billowy blouse from Gigi’s Boutique ($22). I love the details like the pockets, cobalt-yellow-gray color combo, and drawstring. GAP gray cropped jeans are perfect for my weekend attire. I didn’t do much today but sit over my parents house and eat frozen yogurt (for my throat of course)! Happy Styling!!

I felt horrible today! The weather change is driving me crazy so I don’t have an outfit to report for work today. After downing a cocktail of meds I feel somewhat better. I had an amazing date night with the best little girl ever (she is under the weather tooL)! For our movie-dinner date I choose a palette of gray’s (sweater and tank $4.88 each for LOFT and gray riding pants- Old Navy) and blue rain boots (Steven Madden via TJ Maxx $24.99). Happy Styling!!

I am not sure I like this skirt (TJ Maxx Tahari- $20). There is something that seems off about it; maybe it’s the top which doesn’t tuck in correctly or the lining of the skirt. I’ve had a major dilemma in the morning because of the weather change. Usually in the mornings it’s around 50 degrees and then in the afternoon it’s above 80! For my job I am in and out of my car all day so it’s difficult to decide how to dress. Layers and medium weighted fabrics are a key staple to transition from season to season. This trench inspired LOFT dress was perfect for the weather (I’ve had this dress for a few years)! Happy Styling!!

I put on some higher heels! Better FIT!

The structure of shirts has changed. You can choose a ¾ sleeves shirt, billowy blouse or a traditional crisp button up; the options are limitless. I choose a ¾ button down cream LOFT shirt ($9.99) and brown pin-striped pants (LOFT). I need to change out my shoes which are not tall enough for the length of the pants(the pants look ill fitted plus it’s going to rain all day long and I would hate to have wet pant legs all day). It’s so important to edit your outfit to make sure the fit and form is just right. I piled on pearl and earth toned accessories for a pull together look. Happy Styling!!

I love consignment stores! Often times you can find brand new clothing with tags on them (actually I have some clothes with tags on them waiting to go to the consignment store- money in the bank). I found this burnt peach J. Crew sleeveless blouse with original tags on it (originally $68.00. I paid $10). I have had these high-waisted Express pants for a few years now. This outfit is fall-ready and modern! Happy Styling!!

Shades of gray! Gray is supposed to be the neutral of the season. Dark gray long cardigan (LOFT), gray cropped pants (LOFT), shiny gray patent belt (The Limited), and red box shirt(The Limited) don’t look monochromatic but kind-of a nod to the mad men era! Clothing never has to match but it does need to look like it belongs in the same family! Happy Styling!!

It is cold today! I bright blue cardigan (Target $7.95 in my schools colors nonetheless, GO BIG BLUE) pairs well with a basic white button down and gray pinstriped pants (GAP $12.97). I didn’t want to belt my waist today so I add a nice pendant (LOFT $2.88) at my natural waist line and a blue necklace (New York & Company). Happy Styling!!

Peanut butter and black striped tunic (LOFT) looks great with a simple BCBG pencil skirt (TJ Maxx $10 on clearance)! I love to create ladylike curves and the easiest way to achieve that silhouette is to belt and or enhance your waist. A green patent belt look super stylish and breaks up the black and peanut butter trend (Forever 21 $2.50). Accessories can change the vibe of your outfit in an instant. Forever 21 is one of the best places you grad gobs of accessories and their prices are usually under $10! Happy Styling!!

I LOVE cosmetics!! Eye shadows, nail polish, and glitter all excite me. I love going to Walgreens and Target and perusing the aisles. Does anyone else have this same addiction? I love to watch you tubers to learn their different techniques! I am growing out my eyebrows too because just like clothing has trends so does makeup- a full brow is in!! What is your favorite line or must do beauty secrets? I always wear a primer (MAC matte) and I am ADDITIED to Carmex! Happy Styling!!

It is easy to play it safe in life but it’s a jungle out there and I believe you can/will have more fun if you take some risk! A bright in-your-face yellow tank makes my LOFT animal print pop! I am wearing a cardigan to lend some professional credibility but I know it’s coming off in the afternoon when the temperature reaches near 90. Happy Styling!!

This dress has a throwback 80’s feel. I love the simple lady like silhouette and of course a belted waist. I picked this dress up at Forever 21($24.00).I am eager for fall but in Tennessee we have a few more days of summer left so I plan to wear sandals and dresses as much as possible. Happy Styling!!

Summer is coming to an end but boy we had a beautiful day! LOFT shorts paired with white button down look prize worthy! I had to visit my daughter’s school for a fundraiser. I like this Friday outfit because it looks sharp and professional for work and easy breeze to handle a bundle of 1^st graders! Cardigan (LOFT), tank (The Limited), and jeans (Banana Republic).Happy Styling!!

Basic black pants and white shirt are jazzed up with a much needed scarf (it was 68 degrees, windy and overcastted). The scarf says “New York, New York” in different colors (YES, I love NYC). I like to roll up my sleeves for a more relaxed pulled together every day style. I believe the little touches that you add to your outfit help you to stand out from the crowd! Happy Styling!!

It is chili outside. I love this taste of fall! Can you tell I have on sequins? Yes, you too can wear glitter and glitz during the day. The key to wearing sequins during the day is to pair it down with neutrals. A cozy army green DKNY cardigan (TJ Maxx $8.99) and LOFT wide leg trousers are perfect basic to my outfit. Happy Styling!!
