Skinny pants to work…Oh my! These LOFT skinny pants fit so well inside my rain boots and look fabulous for a causal Friday look ( the sky has opened up for the last two days. I’m going to call Noah in a few minutes to make sure everything is okayJ). I love black turtlenecks for fall and winter which are great on their own or as a layering piece. I got this cute blazer at TJ Maxx a few years ago (I think I paid $14.99). I so happy it’s Friday, I love the weekends!

I attended an uber chic baby shower today. Guest were encouraged to wear all black and hot pink. I’ve been waiting to wearing this GAP maxi skirt for awhile ($6.99). I grabbed one of my favorite sweaters (Target $5) and added a hot pink scarf (I picked up this scarf in the airport for $10). I look downtown cool! Happy Styling!!

I have wanted some high-waisted jeans for a while now. I got these jeans at The Limited and I love what it does for my butt ($18.99). Neon colors are very trendy for the season. This GAP belt is about all the neon I can take in one outfit ($5.99). When wearing a trend you have to consider your age and wear the trend appropriately. I don’t want to document my outfit I wore to work today because it was just ok. Have you ever had one of those days were you just threw on some clothes and went to work, not really caring about the “style”? Well, I have a date tonight with my sweet 6 year old daughter. We are going to go out to eat, getting our nails done, chat about school, and maybe do some shopping. This is the outfit I plan on wearing out with her.  Slim cords in an interesting color are a hot trend (Old Navy $4.99- I got these in the spring on clearance. I got a pink pair too!). Target shirt and one of my favorite LOFT blazers are super cute and non-momish. I scored these 6 inch platform wedges on a recent trip to NYC (Sam Edelman via Century 21 $69.00- a bit pricey but they are leather and you can get the same shoe at Nordstrom for $250). If you are ever in NYC you have to go to Century 21, it’s like TJ Maxx on steroids…seriously! Happy Styling!!

It was super cold today in TN. I love this Tahari coat I scored at Ruelala.com. I love turtlenecks because they are so timeless and classic (Express $6.99). The Limited pants make me look so tall and lean. I can’t stand being cold so I had the cutest Target checker tights on that peeked from my shoes as I walked. In TN its 49 degrees for the high today…woozier! Layers are the key to keep warm and not look bulky. Boy was it a rainy and cold day. I had to pull out my London Fog trench (Sam’s Warehouse $14.99). The pink ruffle blouse is very feminine (LOFT $4.88-final sale) and The Limited black and white checker wide leg pants give a sunshine to this gloomy day. Happy Styling!!

This week I’ve tried two new products and I am in LOVE!!! TRESemme’ Freshstart waterless foam shampoo is beyond amazing ($3 Target). I workout 5-6 days a week and I sweat a lot. So I wash my hair every other day but with this new find I think I can wash my hair just twice a week now. The fresh scent and easy to follow instructs make this a keeper. I am a loyal fan of MAC matte primer; really no other primer comes close. However, I have to use extra primer on my eyes so my eye shadows stays in place. Well, E.L.F. has a great eyelid primer that gives me the same results as MAC (even better) and it only cost $1(Target). I am exposed to the elements (rain, sun, humidity, etc) everyday so this primer really holds up. I wish they would come up with a face primer…ummm! Happy Styling!!

I love boutiques! Often times you can find one of a kind pieces that you can’t find at big box retailers. But beware; some of the prices at boutiques are OUTRAGEOUS! I scored this darling jacket at Blush (a small boutique in Brentwood, TN) for $11.99!! I picked this jacket up in the summer so I was looking forward to wearing this in the fall. The sweater and pants were a clearance find at LOFT ($4.99 and $21.88).I am thinking I need to change my shoes to something taller! happy Styling!!

Let me start off by saying you look so GREAT to be 7 months pregnant!! Well, since you will be having a glamorous baby shower I suggested a fitted all black maxi dress. I love to see pregnant women embrace their new and glorious shape! Big larger than life chandelier hot pink earrings will be amazing and go along with the theme! Happy Styling!!

Breast Cancer will affect almost 2 out 4 females in our lifetime. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the color ribbon is pink. Pink is by far my favorite color. Pink is feminine, strong, delicate, and unique- like a woman! It’s Friday and I choose a pink tee (The Limited- they have really cute tee shirts but catch them on sale, $15 or under) and The Limited back pants. I’ve owned these pants for a few years now and every time I wear them I get great compliments (the bow detail and wide leg pant makes this current and modern). I really don’t think you can own enough black pants and in different styles, just like a pant suit its very transitional! Happy Styling!!

Whoa… I am back! I haven’t technically been gone; my university had their 100^th Homecoming celebration so I have been “out and about” all weekend enjoying old friends, tailgating, and parties! It’s fall time in Tennessee…beautiful! Today we didn’t have a cloud in the sky but the low was in the 40’s. I love the color of this GAP blazer ($19.99) it screams fall harvest. I like the draped fabric that looks like ribbons peeping out of the bottom of the blazer. I paired a basic tank and The Limited pants for a pulled together look. Happy Styling!!

As a child, I always wanted to be an attorney. I love how they can argue a point until its mute and win on technicalities. I was even a political science major in college but I quickly learned  during a internship at a major firm my personality doesn’t match well with other lawyers or the constant reading( I am a people person and I love to interact with people hence- a sales career). I had “my day in court” today and I wanted to dress what I perceived an attorney wears (Guess what? All the female JD’s had on black suits ha ha! One even asked what firm I represented. This speaks so well to dress for the job you want not the job you have.) I know this is a plain-jane outfit and doesn’t showcase my personality or flare but I think it’s key that everyone own one POWERHOUSE black suit (The Limited-Studio 400. jacket $29.99 skirt $14.99). Think about it, you can interview in this suit, dress up/down the separates, or even attend a funeral (not funny but true)! Happy Styling!!

It’s one of those days were it is 50 degrees in the morning and 80 in the afternoon. I am feeling so much better today! I got some much needed sleep and medicine over the weekend. Today is a rainy day, I actually love the rain it’s so renewing and calming. I paired a oatmeal colored sweater(LOFT $20- I got it over the weekend with their great 40% off sale and saving cards) and classic black LOFT pants( I’ve owned these forever)! I am still feeling under the weather…sniff sniff. However, the best way to feel better is to look better (so I changed out of my cozy pajamas and got out of the house). I got this cute billowy blouse from Gigi’s Boutique ($22). I love the details like the pockets, cobalt-yellow-gray color combo, and drawstring. I felt horrible today! The weather change is driving me crazy so I don’t have an outfit to report for work today. After downing a cocktail of meds I feel somewhat better. I had an amazing date night with the best little girl ever (she is under the weather tooL)! I’ve had a major dilemma in the morning because of the weather change. Usually in the mornings it’s around 50 degrees and then in the afternoon it’s above 80! For my job I am in and out of my car all day so it’s difficult to decide how to dress. Layers and medium weighted fabrics are a key staple to transition from season to season. The structure of shirts has changed. You can choose a ¾ sleeves shirt, billowy blouse or a traditional crisp button up; the options are limitless. I choose a ¾ button down cream LOFT shirt ($9.99) and brown pin-striped pants (LOFT). I need to change out my shoes which are not tall enough for the length of the pants(the pants look ill fitted plus it’s going to rain all day long and I would hate to have wet pant legs all day). It’s so important to edit your outfit to make sure the fit and form is just right. I piled on pearl and earth toned accessories for a pull together look. Happy Styling!!

I love consignment stores! Often times you can find brand new clothing with tags on them (actually I have some clothes with tags on them waiting to go to the consignment store- money in the bank). I found this burnt peach J. Crew sleeveless blouse with original tags on it (originally $68.00. I paid $10). I have had these high-waisted Express pants for a few years now. Shades of gray! Gray is supposed to be the neutral of the season. Dark gray long cardigan (LOFT), gray cropped pants (LOFT), shiny gray patent belt (The Limited), and red box shirt(The Limited) don’t look monochromatic but kind-of a nod to the mad men era! Clothing never has to match but it does need to look like it belongs in the same family! Happy Styling!!

It is cold today! I bright blue cardigan (Target $7.95 in my schools colors nonetheless, GO BIG BLUE) pairs well with a basic white button down and gray pinstriped pants (GAP $12.97). I didn’t want to belt my waist today so I add a nice pendant (LOFT $2.88) at my natural waist line and a blue necklace (New York & Company). Happy Styling!!

Peanut butter and black striped tunic (LOFT) looks great with a simple BCBG pencil skirt (TJ Maxx $10 on clearance)! I love to create ladylike curves and the easiest way to achieve that silhouette is to belt and or enhance your waist. A green patent belt look super stylish and breaks up the black and peanut butter trend (Forever 21 $2.50). Accessories can change the vibe of your outfit in an instant. Forever 21 is one of the best places you grad gobs of accessories and their prices are usually under $10! Happy Styling!!

I LOVE cosmetics!! Eye shadows, nail polish, and glitter all excite me. I love going to Walgreens and Target and perusing the aisles. Does anyone else have this same addiction? I love to watch you tubers to learn their different techniques! I am growing out my eyebrows too because just like clothing has trends so does makeup- a full brow is in!! Basic black pants and white shirt are jazzed up with a much needed scarf (it was 68 degrees, windy and overcastted). The scarf says “New York, New York” in different colors (YES, I love NYC). It is chili outside. I love this taste of fall! Can you tell I have on sequins? Yes, you too can wear glitter and glitz during the day. When I think of silk pants, I think of senior citizens in their matching silk track suit. However, I adore these silk GAP pants ($8.99). The pants are a silk blend so the pants are breathable! The billowy shirt is feminine and breezy on this hot day (New York & Company $6.95). It was pretty chilly this morning, 59 degrees, a wonderful preview of fall! 3 ways to wear a scarf!

1.       As a hair bow. Yes, it’s pretty bold but it adds spice to a plain tee and jeans.

2.       The traditional way, around your neck. However get creative and tie it in a different way (a bow or double knot).

3.       As a belt! One of my favorite fall outfits is to wear all black then tie a colorful scarf as a belt. It’s a great way to add a pop of color and still look conservative.

I love this dress HOWEVER I don’t know what I was thinking today when I slipped on this wrap dress. It was 103 degrees today in TN, so you can understand that I was way over dressed. Boy, am I ready fall! Today is another hot day in TN (humidity and temps are through the roof)! A Calvin Klein pencil skirt ($19.99 Rue La La.com) and cute top (TJ Maxx $5) look polished on this hot day. I really wanted to wear a suit today but I value my life and don’t want to pass out! I think this look commands authority, maybe not like a suit but it does say “I will get the job done”! What is your go to outfit when you want to command authority in a meeting or presentation? I had to take a four hour course last night and this is the outfit I wore. One of two things always happens in these types of meetings 1. I am freezing 2. I always sit by the most chatty person in the meeting unintentionally! Although it was well above 90 degrees yesterday evening I choose a ¾ length LOFT blouse and wide leg GAP pants to stay warm. This outfit worked well and chatty Kathy next to me was complaining the whole time about being cold and being pregnant…ha ha (You just gotta roll with the punches)! Excuse my shiney forehead!!
